Beer or Harvest Jug

Jug of inverted pear shaped form with cylindrical neck and projecting lip and an angular loop handle. Decorated overall with various Masonic signs and emblems and the name 'Thomas and Ann Welch 1823' underneath which is a print of a man seated and resting his left hand on a coat of arms. On either side these is a rhyme and beneath a sunburst surrounded by figured standing on clouds the whole surmounted by the inscription:- 'Masonry Universal'. The decoration is all transfer printed, heightened in coloured enamels and pink lustre. Size: Height: 25 cm
