Oil on canvas. This double portrait depicts the daughters of Lord Stuart de Rothesay, first British Ambassador to France. It is one of two group portraits by Hayter of the Rothesay family. (The other features Lady Rothesay with her daughters.) Both are now on display at the Ambassador's Residence in Paris, which was once the family's home, along with Hayter's portrait of Lord Stuart.
