Candlestick

Part of a pair of Fable candlesticks. This candlestick illustrates Aesop's fable of the Leopard and the Fox. The leopard is seen seated, it's tail curing upwards and its left leg and paw extended upwards forming an elegant posture (cf. the Fable). Seated at the feet of the preening leopard is a fox naturalistically coloured. Both are seen against rich bocage of pink centred flowers and bright green leaves. Size: Height: 24 cm.
