The Emperor Charles V (1500-1558)

Charles became Charles I of Spain in 1516 and Holy Roman Emperor Charles V in 1519. He married his cousin, Isabella of Portugal, in 1526 and had a daughter, who married Maximilian II of Austria, and a son, who was Philip II of Spain. Charles ruled a huge part of Europe. He was crowned Holy Roman Emperor by the Pope in Bologna in 1530. Size: 52.1 x 46.7 cm
