The clothplate is decorated with a repeating diamond border and central italicised cruciform motif in golds, greens and reds. This design continues up the arm. The back of the clothplate is higned and by pulling a pin at the back, the clothplate can be lifted to reveal a small recess and the mechanism. There is still a piece of cloth under the needle., , , , The machine has a shuttle to create the lockstitch, as well as a bobbin winder, presser foot and feed. There is still an empty cotton reel on the machine. , , , , The case has a rounded top and each end is carved with a floral motif. There is a single handle at the top. , , , , The case contains a small red packet of 2 Milwards machine needles (4/8). The packets reads "SHARPS 4/8 // MILWARDS // GOLD SEAL // NEEDLES // NICKEL PLATED" and on the reverse "Henry Milward Jones //MILWARDS // GOLD SEAL // BEST QUALITY NEEDLES // MADE IN REDDITCH, ENGLAND". , , , , Inscription: (on slider plate) W.
