The Muse Calliope

Half length figure of Calliope, one of the nine muses, daughter of Jupiter and Mnemosyne. She is wearing a rich décolleté dress of red and blue, and carries a laurel crown over her left forearm. Her right hand rests lightly on Homer's 'Odyssey' and 'Iliad' and Virgil's 'Aeneid'. Size: 78.7 x 58.7 cm
